In this Issue

Welcome to the 24th issue of MED Magazine, the monthly webzine of the Macmillan English Dictionaries resource site. This month we celebrate the second birthday of MED Magazine. If you’d like to send us your comments, or if you’d like to contribute to future issues, please contact us by filling in the form on this page.

Earlier this month the presidential election was held in the USA. The new words article in this issue discusses some of the words that have been used in the media in relation to the campaign leading up to the election.

The language interference series continues with an article about Greek loan words in English and false and unreliable friends shared by English and Greek.

The topic of the Language Study article is word formation, and more specifically the forming of new words with the use of prefixes and suffixes.

The feature article this month discusses some of the key aspects and common problems of classroom management in Business English.

In the top tips article you can find some useful ideas for teaching language and skills your students need for giving presentations. This article also includes vocabulary activities with teacher’s notes.

If you’d like to read more about a specific topic, or a different article by one of our regular contributors, you’ll find the index helpful. On this page, you can take a look at the back issues of MED Magazine.
