Welcome to the 31st edition of MED Magazine, the webzine of the Macmillan English Dictionaries resource site.

The US Open golf tournament was completed earlier this month and in this issue we provide you with a new set of sports games. These will help you and your students to practise the key vocabulary of the popular sports of golf, baseball and American football.

A new series on phrasal verbs is introduced in MED Magazine. To follow on from the last two issues we'll kick off with an article on metaphor and phrasal verbs.

In the new words column this month you can read about new words in Australian English and the influence of popular culture in creating them.

The corpora tips series digs deeper into WebCorp, a free search tool available on the Web, by taking a look at how you can investigate frequent collocations. The article also provides useful ideas for exploiting WebCorp in your classroom.

To take a look at the covers of previous issues of the webzine, go to the back issues page, and to search for articles published in earlier editions, visit the index.

If you would like to share your ideas or opinion, you can contact us by filling in and sending us this form. You can read a selection of comments by other readers on this page.

If you or your students use the Macmillan English Dictionary, or a similar learner dictionary, we'd like to hear from you! Just take ten minutes to fill in our online survey, and we'll give you a year's free access to our online dictionary. If you use it already, you can enter a prize draw instead. Please complete the questionnaire by Monday 18 July.

On behalf of the Macmillan Dictionaries team I wish you happy browsing!
