In this Issue Welcome to the 29th edition of MED Magazine, the webzine of the Macmillan English Dictionaries resource site. This month sees the launch of the brand new Phrasal Verbs Plus in the Macmillan English Dictionaries series. Macmillan Phrasal Verbs Plus is a dictionary of phrasal verbs for intermediate to advanced learners. To mark the publication, we include in this issue an article about new phrasal verbs. In the feature article authors Philip Kerr and Lindsay Clandfield discuss how the words profession and professional apply to English Language Teaching. The Language Study pages talk about metaphor. You'll find useful information here about metaphorical uses of common English words, and how metaphor contributes to the creation of new meanings of words. In the Language Interference series you can learn about the influence of English on the Romanian language, and what common errors Romanian learners of English make as a result of L1 and L2 interference. If you'd like some helpful tips on teaching new words that are not included in dictionaries yet, or if you'd like to explore with your students new meanings of words, read the first article in our three-part series on corpora tips. This first article gives you advice on how to use the Web as corpus and teaching resource. The index page lists the complete contents of all previous editions of this webzine.
