In this Issue

Welcome to the April issue of the MED Magazine, the monthly webzine of the Macmillan English Dictionary resource site!

This month in the Language Interference series the focus is on Japanese: how the language borrows words from English and some other languages, and what problems this may cause for language learners.

In the feature article you are invited to share ELT author and teacher trainer Ken Wilson's memories of and thoughts about English language teaching.

The language of the Web is the topic of the new word column in this issue of the magazine. In this article you can find out more about words created for the Internet.

In the Language Awareness column this month we start a new series on Academic English and essay writing. In the first part you can read about what students need to know and do before they start writing an essay.

We continue offering practical tips on how you can use the Macmillan English Dictionary CD-ROM in your teaching. In this issue you can find out how you can practise spelling with SoundSearch.

We are always interested to hear your suggestions and comments. If you would like to contact us, please fill in this form and e-mail it to us.
